Why Couples Are Choosing Wedding Venues With Full Property Access

Picture this: your closest people aren’t scattered across three different hotels. They’re gathered on the same 170 acres, waking up the morning after your wedding with nowhere to rush off to. That’s the version of a wedding weekend we’ve built at Riverbend Ranch and Retreat, located in Normandy, Tennessee, about 45 minutes from Franklin.

Couples choose wedding venues with full property access because it turns a single-day event into a shared weekend experience where guests stay together, relax, and celebrate without rushing. At places like Riverbend Ranch, exclusive access, on-site lodging, outdoor activities, and flexible spaces create a more connected, immersive, and memorable wedding for everyone involved.

Couples from Nashville, Murfreesboro, and the greater Franklin area keep finding their way to us, and the reason is usually the same. They want their wedding to feel like something more than a four-hour event.

What It Actually Means to Rent the Whole Property

Renting the whole property means your guests aren’t sharing the land with strangers. From Friday afternoon through Sunday morning, every acre of Riverbend belongs to your group. The barn, the ceremony sites, the cabins, the river. All of it, yours for the weekend.

The Spaces Your Guests Will Move Through

The White Barn is where most receptions happen. It seats 200 guests comfortably at tables, with room left over for a dance floor and a buffet line that doesn’t require anyone to wait in a hallway. For ceremonies, that same space can accommodate up to 350 guests in a theater-style arrangement.

Top Wedding Venue Near Franklin

Outside the barn, we have both a Lakeside Ceremony Site and a Riverside Ceremony Site. Two completely distinct outdoor ceremony options, both on the property, both within easy reach of where your guests are already staying. The night before the wedding, the Dining Hall becomes the natural gathering spot for a rehearsal dinner. It seats 60 in a setting that feels warm and unhurried, with a prep kitchen that gives your catering team everything they need.

Keeping Your People Close

Here’s where Riverbend separates from most venues near Nashville. We have 47 beds across four guest houses and two private cabins, and the property comfortably accommodates over 60 guests total. The guest houses offer King, Queen, Twin XL, and bunk configurations, so families traveling together actually have rooms that work for them. Each cabin has a King master bedroom downstairs and a loft with multiple Twin XL beds above. The Bridal Suite Cabin and Groom’s Suite are both part of our all-inclusive package.

Full property exclusivity comes with that package, too. Your group is the only group on these 170 acres for the weekend.

A Weekend Worth Staying For

When guests aren’t gathered for a ceremony or dinner, the property keeps them busy in the best possible way. The stocked ponds hold bass, catfish, and bluegill. The Duck River is right there for floating, kayaking, and swimming. There’s axe throwing, a full basketball court, a BB gun range, and open fields that invite whatever your group comes up with on its own.

Destination Wedding

The send-off is something we’re particularly proud of. Riverbend holds its own pyrotechnics operator’s license, which means the end-of-night fireworks aren’t an afterthought or a third-party add-on. The all-inclusive package includes a firework photo opportunity to close out the night, and couples who want something more elaborate can choose from standard or deluxe firework walk-out packages.

What’s Included and What You Plan Separately

The all-inclusive package covers three days of full property access from Friday through Sunday, two nights of accommodations for 50 or more guests across the four houses and two cabins, a day-of wedding coordinator, tables and chairs, flower arrangements for the tables, full property exclusivity, and the firework photo opportunity. There’s genuine room to build from there with à la carte options, including a bonfire by the river the night before, tractor rides, string lighting and whiskey barrel rentals, an additional event day for rehearsal dinner setup, and event teardown service.

On catering, we’re straightforward about how we handle it. We don’t provide food service directly, but we connect couples with local caterers who know our spaces well. Outside catering is fully allowed, and full bar service is permitted with a licensed caterer. One item to plan for early: all events require day-of-event insurance or an additionally insured policy.

Conclusion

The couples who tour Riverbend and then book quickly tend to describe the same moment. They walk down toward the Riverside Ceremony Site, take in the water and the open land, and stop comparing it to other venues entirely.

We’d love for you to have that moment in person. Request our pricing guide or call us directly at (931) 857-4000. Our team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and happy to walk you through everything at your own pace.
