Why Riverbend Ranch is the Best Place to Host Your Family Reunion Near Franklin

Most family reunions outgrow a backyard but don’t quite need a hotel ballroom. You want space for kids to play, a long table for people who haven’t seen each other in years, and somewhere for the older relatives to sit comfortably while the cousins fish off the bank. That combination is harder to find than it sounds, and it’s exactly why families from the Franklin area keep coming back to Riverbend Ranch and Retreat.

Riverbend Ranch is a strong choice for family reunions near Franklin because it combines 170 acres of private space, on-site lodging for over 60 guests, and activities for all ages in one location. With shared gathering areas, outdoor recreation, and full property exclusivity, families can stay together and enjoy a relaxed, connected weekend.

Located about 45 minutes from Franklin at 239 Cortner Mill Rd in Normandy, TN, the ranch sits on 170 acres along the Duck River. The size alone changes the energy of a reunion.

What Makes Riverbend Work for Family Reunions

Riverbend Ranch gives family reunions something most venues can’t. With 170 acres, 47 beds, multiple gathering spaces, and on-site activities from fishing to axe-throwing, the property handles every age and energy level without anyone having to leave.

Everyone Stays Together on the Property

Scattered lodging fragments a reunion fast. When half the family is 20 minutes away at a hotel, the group never fully settles in. At Riverbend, everyone stays on the property.

We have 47 beds across four guest houses and two private cabins, with a total capacity for more than 60 guests. Guest houses offer King, Queen, and Twin XL setups with bunk bed options upstairs for kids and larger family branches. Each cabin has a master bedroom with a King bed and a loft with multiple Twin XL beds. When everyone wakes up in the same place, the day starts together. That kind of shared morning is harder to create than most people expect.

Spaces That Work for the Whole Group

The White Barn seats up to 200 guests around tables or 350 in theatre-style. It has room for a dance floor and buffet, so the layout doesn’t force you to choose between the two. The Dining Hall seats 60 with a kitchen prep area and on-site restrooms, ideal for smaller family clusters or a morning breakfast.

The Bison Room upstairs has a TV, Wi-Fi, and a conferencing camera, useful if you want to run a family slideshow or connect with members who couldn’t make the trip. Outside, the fire pit and bonfire areas along the Duck River are where the evenings tend to end up.

Activities for Every Age, All on Site

Different generations can do completely different things at the same time without anyone having to drive anywhere. Fishing is available in stocked ponds with bass, catfish, and bluegill. Kayaking, river floating, and swimming are on the Duck River.

There’s also a basketball court, sports fields, a BB gun range, and axe-throwing on the property. For those who want to explore nearby, guided distillery tours are available, along with scenic waterfall hikes and nature trails.

Fireworks, Catering, and Full Property Exclusivity

Riverbend Ranch and Retreat holds its own pyrotechnics operator’s license, and firework walk out packages in standard and deluxe options are available as add-ons. For food, we can help connect groups with local catering options that fit their needs. Outside catering is welcome under our open vendor policy, and full bar service is allowed with a licensed caterer.

On-site beverage service, including coffee, tea, and water, is available directly through us. Your family also gets the entire 170-acre property to itself. For a reunion where the schedule is informal, and kids are running the grounds, that kind of exclusivity makes the whole weekend feel like yours.

Conclusion
